Robert Lang worked as a physicist for more than 15 years. Now, he's a full-time origami artist and consultant. He describes how he uses mathematical tools to help him create complex origami art -- and how the science of folding has applications in space, medical and other research.

| After more than 15 years as a full-time physicist and origami hobbyist, Lang switched careers in 2001 and become a full-time origami artist and consultant. He designs and creates origami pieces for private collectors, advertisers and other clients, and his work has been shown in many art galleries. |
