Continuing King's Legacy

The National Memorial
The granite statue of Martin Luther King Jr., located along Washington D.C.'s Tidal Basin, was designed by Chinese sculptor Lei Yixin. The memorial features two 30-foot high rocks - visitors pass through those rocks toward the basin where King's statue stands. Once a single boulder, the jagged outside edges of the rock contrast the smooth interior signifying King's great struggle.
