It's been a long year of contentious congressional negotiations, raucous town hall meetings and battle lines being drawn over President Obama's push for health care reform. You can be forgiven for occasionally getting lost along the bumpy political road that ended with the president's signature on a sweeping overhaul of the nation's health care system.

Luckily for you, the NewsHour has distilled months of health reform coverage into a single highlight reel. Starting with Tom Daschle's withdrawal from the health czar nomination and lawmakers' rambunctious town hall meetings in their home districts to the debate over the public option and the Republicans' upset win in Massachusetts, here's a look back at how President Obama prevailed in passing his administration's signature domestic issue.
