The Doubleheader: Debt Ceiling Drama and the Roger Clemens Mistrial

Mark Shields and David Brooks returned to the Doubleheader with Hari Sreenivasan after a summer hiatus and jumped right into the debt limit drama at the center of politics in Washington this month.

Shields and Brooks agreed that a grand deal looks unlikely and assessed the faults of the various political factions in their so far fruitless efforts to broker a compromise that would raise the debt ceiling and avoid a U.S. default.

We also focus on the duo's favorite sport, baseball, and assess how the Roger Clemens mistrial is a reminder of the stain of steroids on Major League Baseball. And finally: Who's watching the Tour de France?
