Shields and Brooks on Rick Perry's Rise, Cheney's Book and Peyton Manning
It has been forever and a day since we got the band back together. By that, I mean of course syndicated columnist Mark Shields and New York Times columnist David Brooks to talk about the politics of sport and the sport of politics. In this week's Doubleheader, we talk about the meteoric rise of Texas Gov. Rick Perry and the blunt memoir to be released by former Vice President Dick Cheney next week. That's the serious stuff at least.
On a lighter note, we tackle all three of America's major sports: the historic triple grand slams by the New York Yankees, Kerry Collins' redux as he emerges to help Peyton Manning quarterback the Indianapolis Colts and Ron Artest's decision to change his name to Metta World Peace. Artest's request was delayed because he had unpaid tickets. That of course led Shields and Brooks to mention World B Free. It's just a sliver of what you learn on The Doubleheader. Thanks for watching.
