Sharing The PBS NewsHour is Now a 'Snap'

By: Hari Sreenivasan

We've been testing a product called SNAPPY TV for a few months now, and would like to open it up to a larger audience for testing: you. Snappy allows you to clip any highlight from a tv program and share that instantly across social networks. To see what folks have snapped of our show, head to our program page on their site: PBS NewsHour.

You can create a "snap" from your laptop/ desktop/ tablet/phone as we stream our program live every night around the country. It is a pretty intuitive interface: you press one button, the giant orange SNAP, and then move the yellow bars to either edge of where you want the video of interest to start and stop -- and that's it. You can link it to your Facebook and Twitter accounts and, with two clicks, share the clip immediately with your friends.

So far there have been a small group of Snappy loyalists clipping what strikes their fancy from our program each night, but we're hoping more of you will try it -- starting with President Obama's jobs address on Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET. We have three programs that night, at 6, 7 and 9 p.m. ET and will be streaming them all live online.

If you find something the president said interesting, or some of our commentary and analysis around his remarks insightful, Snap it, comment on it and share it with your friends and with us on Twitter and Facebook.
