Rice: Case for Iraq War May Have 'Overemphasized' Some Intel

Gwen Ifill spoke with with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice this week about her new memoir, titled "No Higher Honor." In it, Rice looks back at the lead up to the invasion of Iraq in 2003, her "creepy" meeting with former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, her relationships with other key figures within the George W. Bush administration and the three moments in which she considered resigning.

Rice said that in retrospect, "I think that the case that was made for war, perhaps, overemphasized -- and I say this in the book -- what I've called the intelligence nuggets, rather than the totality of the picture about Saddam Hussein. We didn't invent the threat of Saddam Hussein."

Despite doubts doubts about the presence of weapons of mass destruction, Rice said that while Saddam Hussein posed a real threat and "had been at the center of Middle East instability for decades."
