Slide Show: An Imam with an HIV Prevention Mission

By: Talea Miller

On Wednesday's NewsHour, the global health unit reports on how Morocco is training imams to educate people in their communities about the HIV virus.

One such imam, Mohamed Ziani, speaks about HIV prevention during prayer at his mosque and teaches other imams to do the same. Ziani invited us into his home, where he talked about the response he has received from people who hear his HIV message.

View a slide show above featuring a day in Ziani's life and his work to spread tolerance and understanding for HIV patients. You can also read a reporter's notebook from Ray Suarez on the challenge of confronting HIV in a country where talk of sexual relationships is often taboo.
