Political Checklist: Voter ID Dispatch from Pennsylvania

By: Christina Bellantoni

In this week's Political Checklist, I chatted with Ray Suarez about the voter ID battle in Pennsylvania.

The Keystone State has imposed strict photo identification requirements ahead of the November elections, a new measure that is the subject of hearings beginning Wednesday.

The Justice Department is investigating the law, and partisans on both sides are digging in for what could be a long fight.

Ray noted that top state Republican Mike Turzai was caught on camera saying the voter ID law "is going to allow" Mitt Romney to win the state this fall.

Tune in to the NewsHour Tuesday night to watch Ray's report.

Cassie M. Chew shot and edited this video and Meena Ganesan assisted with production.
