Looking for Ways to Cut Costs
Like most CEOs, Ferguson wants to provide services at the lowest possible cost and charge the maximum the market will bear. Simple economics. Maybe he will discover more cost-cutting measures during his week patrolling cell blocks and counting inmates. He's also got his eye on CCA expanding into international markets in the future. Can he glean insights to help the corporation grow while processing prisoners and swabbing latrines?

Although Ferguson's not exactly relishing going to work in a prison, he's willing to play along with the "Back to the Floor" concept. "I am anxious to get started," he gamely admits. "I hope I get a real appreciation of what a correctional officer's day of life is. It's an awesome responsibility we have."

Maybe the CEO will learn more about the nuts and bolts of his operations. Maybe he'll have a realization about how challenging prison life is. And maybe he will (or won't) try the food.
