The Corporate Executive's World
The title of CEO or "Chief Executive Officer" has reached
something of a mythic status in our culture: CEOs are often touted
as bold leaders who fearlessly guide their companies to profitability.
They are both admired and reviled for possessing a level of outlandish
wealth and executive privilege reserved for only the chosen few.
And they are blessed with the perk of ultimate decision making power
in their companies.
We all know that CEO's make more money than the average worker,
but how many of us really understand the CEO's role in the corporate
hierarchy? Do a company's fortune's really rise and fall according
to the skills and business savvy of the big boss? Are they overpaid
and out-of-touch deadweight or dynamic leaders of their companies?
And what does a CEO do all day, anyway?
Check out the links on the right to find out more about what CEOs
do when they're not headed Back to the Floor.
