Orellana and the Amazon

Should the Amazon Rainforest be saved or should the countries involved be able to use and develop it in any way they wish?

The Amazon Rainforest provides many important benefits to the world. Cutting down the Rainforest offers the countries involved the chance to sell valuable resources to help its people and reduce national debt.

I think Tacie has a lot of good points. Finding medicines is really important. We need to find the cures for cancer and AIDS. I also think that the United States should pay for finding the cures for diseases by checking out all the plants in the rainforest. We have the money to do it. Maybe we should pay the countries that have the rainforests for the chance to keep the rainforests and experiment on the plants? What do you think?
