Throughout this sequence, an AUDIO COLLAGE of PHILADELPHIA VOICES talking about the truth about Philadelphia . . . the challenges of every day in the City of Brotherly Love...the different dimensions of the city.

A MAINTANENCE WORKER is buffing the wooden floors in the glass-enclosed pavilion that houses the Liberty Bell. The man (and the bell) are silhoutted, back lit by early morning light.

In the darkness, a clock radio spews out a raucous song as two bodies, a man's and a woman's, lie splayed in bed, a matted sheet weaving under, over, and between them. After a few seconds of inertia, the woman's paint-spattered hand flops over and hits the "snooze" bar, killing the sound.
