Susan Hunt Television Host Had Breast Cancer
Kathryn S. (Susan) Hunt launched her diverse 20 year media career in her hometown of Buffalo, New York as host of PM Magazine. Since then, she has hosted many of of cable's most successful lifestyle and travel programs. She was most recently seen as host of HGTV's Designing for the Sexes, and prior to that, Susan distinguished herself and her passion for adventure travel on the highly rated TLC series Great Country Inns.
Susan is no stranger to medical stories, having served as host of the ground-breaking science and technology series Beyond Tomorrow. Based in Sydney, Australia, Susan traveled the globe, writing and producing dozens of compelling segments from all corners of the globe.
An avid sportswoman, she has served as play-by-play announcer and reporter for ABC Sports, USA, ESPN, and the Travel Channel. A passionate golfer, Susan served as Executive Producer and Host of the ESPN series LPGA Magazine, the first women's sports magazine show on television.
In her media career, Susan has frequently mixed her professional life with community interests and is currently at work on radio and television programming focused on eldercare. She is a resident of Santa Monica, CA.

Stuart Schnitt, M.D. is Co-Director of Anatomic Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a consultant in pathology at both Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and a Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, all in Boston, MA. He is an internationally-recognized authority in breast pathology and has published over 200 original articles, review articles and book chapters. Dr. Schnitt's research focuses on factors associated with the development of breast cancer and features associated with breast cancer recurrence. He currently serves on the editorial board of 11 medical journals and has been selected by his peers to be listed in the books "Best Doctors in America" and "America's Top Doctors".
Jennifer Griggs, M.D., M.P.H. Medical Director, Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program University Of Rochester Medical Center
Jennifer Griggs, M.D. is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, where she majored in English and Biology. She earned her M.D. degree from the University of Buffalo. Dr. Griggs completed her residency in internal medicine, served as Chief Resident, and did her fellowships in Hematology/Oncology and Health Services Research at the University of Rochester. Dr. Griggs is the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center. Her research program focuses on understanding disparities in the quality of breast cancer care and in studying patient preferences for cancer treatment. She is active in teaching in the University of Rochester School of Medicine and was awarded the Humanism in Medicine award in May 2004 by the University of Rochester medical students.
Wendie Berg, M.D., Ph.D. Study Chair, American College of Radiology Imaging Network Screening Breast Ultrasound in High-Risk Women
Wendie A. Berg, M.D., Ph.D. is a Diagnostic Radiologist specializing in Breast Imaging in Lutherville, MD. Formerly a Professor of Radiology and Director of Breast Imaging at University of Maryland, she is now an independent breast imaging consultant seeing patients at American Radiology Services-Johns Hopkins Greenspring. Dr. Berg is Study Chair and Principal Investigator of a multi-million dollar, multicenter investigation of the role of screening breast ultrasound as a supplement to mammography in women with dense breasts at high risk of breast cancer. The trial is being conducted through the American College of Radiology Imaging Network (ACRIN Protocol 6666, Screening Breast Ultrasound in High-Risk Women, and the protocol can be viewed at www.acrin.org, with details available also at 1-800-4CANCER), funded by the Avon Foundation and the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Berg has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications on breast imaging, served on many national committees, and given over 100 invited lectures. In addition to her research in breast ultrasound, she is actively involved in investigations of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the breast, breast biopsy, improving mammographic interpretive skills, and positron emission mammography.
Gretchen Ahrendt, M.D. Surgical Director, Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program University of Rochester Medical Center
Gretchen Ahrendt, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Oncology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY. She is the surgical director of the Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program at the James P. Wilmot Cancer Center. Her clinical interest is in breast oncology and the surgical management of breast cancer and breast disease. She is an active member of the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group and is involved in national clinical research trials investigating the role of axillary lymph node surgery in women with breast cancer as well as alternatives to Tamoxifen for management of in situ breast cancer. Dr. Ahrendt received her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. She completed her surgical training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD and was an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI before joining the Department of Surgery in Rochester.

Elissa L. Orlando is a 20-year veteran of public affairs programming and multimedia storytelling. Orlando is director of national programming and special projects at WXXI Public Broadcasting. She was producer of the nationally televised Crucible of Freedom companion program to Ken Burns Not for Ourselves Alone. Orlando has won several New York State broadcasting awards for television news reporting in Somalia Africa, Homestead Florida and other local and national venues. She is a recipient of the Gracie award for television programming from American Women in Radio and Television, and she is the recipient of a Telly award for her production of the TV documentary Reclaiming the Crescent. Orlando also received the Woman of the Distinction award from the Jefferson County Women's Conference in 1995. She was formerly TV news and public affairs director at WXXI, where she also served as executive producer, Website editor and news anchor of Need to Know, WXXI's Emmy Award-winning newsmagazine.
