"Smitten--one of the most uplifting shows I have ever seen on PBS. Smitten--the reason why I support PBS."
Joe Manning, Massachusetts
"Rene di Rosa is the genuine article. No pretensions, no ulterior motives, no hype. He just loves art, and Nancy Kelly takes care to show this by stepping back and letting di Rosa be himself. Another great film by Kelly about the impact art can have on the quality of our lives. It's too bad that, in America, we still have to be reminded of this. What we need in this country are more people like di Rosa who are smitten with something - anything!"

"Viewing this particular program was incredibly cathartic; Smitten's connection with his collection reminded watchers of that idea of an authentic love--and all those associated feelings-- that can only be achieved with the closest of bonds. His appreciation for regional works was genuine and refreshing."
Nancy W., Missouri
"What a pleasure to not only view this program, but to experience one person's passion in progress. This collector's passion and rebellion is so refreshing and contagious. A big hurray for everyone involved with this program."
Ivy M., Massachusetts
"Excellent!!!! Every frame was perfect. Thank you."

"Rene is a classic. As a person, an art connoisseur, a collector and someone who is willing to go against the trend of buying only art that is touted by curators who sometimes don't seem to have a clue about the public likes and dislikes. As a person of the same age group, and long time purchaser and supporter of the art of both known and unknown artist's I salute him. Most good artists would love to see more people like Rene in the world. Excellent program."

"Fantastic program! Thank you so much for introducing us to this fabulous man!"

"What a treat to find this program being aired on my local PBS affiliate WILL-TV. I thoroughly enjoyed it not only as a lover of contemporary art but also as a former (regretfully so) Northern Californian. Thank you."

"I happened to see a promo for SMITTEN, and was intrigued, as there was a family connection to Rene di Rosa. My father and he had been bachelor roommates during WW2, when both were serving in the US Navy. We have a pepper mill that was given by Rene to Mom and Dad for their wedding. It had an appropriately 'Rene-ism' engraved on it. Sadly, my father died recently, on June 6th. My brother called Mr. di Rosa to inform him of Dad's death. He was so polite, but said that he had recently had a stroke. It was great to hear about William N. Hatch, but he had no memory, due to the recent stroke."
