Benjamin Hodge

Ben Hodge is the sole acting teacher at Central York High School in PA where he has been on staff since 2002. He studied English and Acting at Messiah College and received his Masters in Education from Penn State University. Ben's work in and out of the classroom focuses on the social and emotional well-being of the secondary student. Through his studies and field work, he has created a program called "REACH" that centers on building empathy, awareness, connection and community among young people and their personal networks around them. He is especially interested in using drama and the performing arts to help students discover and share their identity through self-exploration, discovery and expression. He is also the author of two plays based on his work: "REACH" and "The STRUGGLE." Both plays communicate the tumultuous world of adolescents and call on the audience and actors to evaluate their role in the world as active participants and pursuers of peace and respect of others. "REACH" was made into an interactive DVD in January 2010 and is set for release on June 26th. More information can be found at
