Keith Humphreys, Ph.D.

Dr. Humphreys is a Professor of Psychiatry and a Senior Research Career Scientist in the Department of Veterans Affairs. He studies treatments and self-help programs for substance abuse and psychiatric disorders. In addition to his scientific projects, he is actively involved in teaching addiction prevention and treatment methods to medical students, psychiatric residents, and clinical psychology interns.

Dr. Humphreys has been extensively involved in U.S. policy making in the areas of mental illness and addiction, and has also been a consultant to science and human service agencies in Spain, Bulgaria, Iraq, Ireland, Canada, and South Africa.
