This is often hard to do, but it is a powerful way to reduce negative emotions and boost your own health and well-being.

  1. People who forgive have higher self-esteem

  2. People who forgive have lower blood pressure and lower rates of heart disease

  3. Some researchers have found that men tend to hold on to grudges longer than women

  4. Older people are more likely to forgive

  5. Forgiveness and reconciliation are different; it is possible to forgive without reconciliation, and possible to reconcile without forgiving
