Neil McRae is a second-generation fine-art valuer who has recently established his own fine-art consultancy. He was born and educated in Glasgow and started his career as a salesroom porter with Christie's. In 1984 he joined their Picture department as a junior cataloguer, and soon became an associate director of the company. With over 18 years' experience, he has gained an extensive knowledge of the art market, and is a recognized authority on Scottish art. In his spare time, he has a passion for malt whisky, mountaineering and soccer.
