Peter Waldron is a senior director of Sotheby's, where he is responsible
for silver, objets de vertu, and portrait miniatures in the UK and
Europe. He joined the firm in 1966 as a junior administrator,
transferring two years later to the Silver department as cataloguer. He
has been a regular contributor to the BBC's ANTIQUES ROADSHOW since the
second series in 1979. Peter is author of The Price Guide to Antique
Silver and contributes articles to specialist magazines and books. He is
also an enthusiast in British heraldic researches and identifications.
He is a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, a member of
the Antique Plate Committee of the Goldsmiths Hall, freeman of the City
of London, and a member of the Silver Society since 1978.
