Tim Wonnacott is a third-generation auctioneer. He joined Sotheby's in 1978 and has recently been appointed chairman jointly of Sotheby's South, based at Billingshurst in Sussex, and Sotheby's new salesroom in Olympia, West London. His specialist subjects include furniture, clocks, and works of art. He is a fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and an associate of the Society of Valuers and Auctioneers. He regularly contributes to a wide range of antiques publications and is a familiar face on many antiques programs, including BBC 2's The Antiques Show and The Antiques Inspectors.
