When you click on underlined vocabulary terms throughout the BUILDING BIG Web site, a pop-up glossary window appears, displaying the term's definition. Students can also click directly on the glossary at any time to look up a BUILDING BIG term.
These mini-activities help all kinds of learners get a feel for the physical science of structures. Each mini-activity starts with the definition of the main science concept presented. The activities require no more than two materials and take just five minutes. Use the mini-activities to introduce new terms or reinforce their meaning. These mini-activities will generate interest and curiosity that can spark a group discussion. To encourage further exploration, keep a running list of questions that arise.
