About the Producers: Laurens Grant
Laurens Grant, co-producer, episode three, The Chicano Wave, has been working in documentary for nearly a decade, and recently received an Emmy as co-producer of Seeds of Destruction, episode 3 of the groundbreaking, four-hour PBS series Slavery and the Making of America. Grant has also produced and directed documentaries for A&E, The History Channel and for non-profit organizations in Haiti and Ethiopia. Most recently, Grant was the New York producer for the PBS six-hour series The Ascent of Money, written and hosted by acclaimed Harvard and Oxford Professor Niall Ferguson. Grant is the Interim President of the Black Documentary Collective in New York City; a CPB/PBS Producers Academy Workshop fellow; a member of the British Academy of Film & Television Arts - East Coast; Independent Feature Project; International Documentary Association; and the European Documentary Network.
