About the Producers: Daniel McCabe

Daniel McCabe, director, writer and producer and editor, episode one, Bridges, has worked in the documentary field for over twenty years, and for the last thirteen, as the owner of the independent documentary company, Big House Productions Inc., located in Arlington, Massachusetts. In 2007, McCabe produced, directed and wrote Marathon Challenge for PBS's NOVA series. He has also written, produced, and directed Newcomers, a one- hour film about the role of immigrant entrepreneurs in the shaping of the United States for the series They Made America (PBS); In the Groove and Shakespeares in the Alley, two episodes of the ten-part series, Rock & Roll (PBS) (the series won the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award); and George Wallace: Settin' the Woods on Fire, a three-hour biography of George Wallace. The Wallace film screened at Sundance 2000 and won a Special Jury Award for Documentary Writing, the Writers Guild Award for Best Documentary Script (non-current event), an Emmy for research, the International Documentary Association's Award for Best Editing of Stock Footage and other honors. Other documentary work completed at Big House includes a variety of programs for PBS's Frontline, the Discovery Channel, and the History Channel. McCabe was also producer for the US version of episode two, The Salsa Revolution, (with Pamela Aguilar).
