October 13, 2000 WELL, ONCE AGAIN, I WAS TOTALLY LEFT FLAT BY THE DEBATE. George Bush did score a couple of points however. I was impressed by his attitudes on equal rights for gay and lesbian marriages. He was right, first of all, that it isn't anybody's business. As I asked before, whatever happened to the "Don't ask, don't tell" mentality. I was also impressed to find out that he does have a sense of humor. I think that is an invaluable asset. Mr. Gore does as well, but I wasn't sure that G.W. did. I think Gore did a good job of apologizing for his exaggerations in the prior debate. That didn't really hurt my opinion of him in the first place. I think that every person on the campaign trail is desperately seeking something to say, and it's a thousand wonders they can keep anything straight. Long story short, on the five-point scale, I am now a 1 on the Bush side.
I'm a mess.
