Town, 1900
In this lesson plan students take a look at what life was like in
their own towns during the 1900's. They will explore why the town
developed, its main industries, how people communicated, and daily
life from work to leisure. This lesson plan is suitable for grades
5-8 and covers Social Studies, Geography, Math and Language Arts.
Living
Without Technology
In this lesson plan students will identify the modern technologies
found in their own homes. Then they will agree to live without all
of them for a day... and if they're daring, for a week! By doing
so, students will get a glimpse of what daily life was like in a
1900 home and come to understand how dependent they are on today's
technology. This lesson plan is suitable for grades 5-8 and covers
Social Studies.
