1992 Theatre de Complicité's "Street of Crocodiles." Heavily influenced by the imagery of Tadeusz Kantor, this joint production with the National Theatre was based on the stories of the Polish writer Bruno Schultz.

1992 Tony Kushner's "Angels in America" produced. A two-part, seven-hour play about the American Right, McCarthyism, Mormonism, Marxism, the Millennium, homosexuality, AIDS, zealotry, faith, God, and angels.

1996 Robert Lepage's "The Seven Streams of the River Ota" created by his company Ex Machina.

1997 The opening of Shakespeare's Globe in London.

1998 The Walt Disney Company and Julie Taymor join forces to create "The Lion King" on Broadway.
