Mission: The Association for Visual Artists is a charitable nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion and support of original visual art and the artists who create it. AVA fosters visual artists and provides quality programming for the community.
Founder: Charlotte Landis, art collector and community volunteer for numerous civic organizations, panelist for TN Arts Commission grants panel, board member of Southeast Center for Education in the Arts, and former piano teacher and performer

Vision: AVA hopes to increase exposure of visual art and artists through Web sites, workshops, exhibits, print media, and to provide a larger vision of awareness of the need for all of the arts in the community, especially in the area of education.
Honors: AVA has received high priority listing for the receipt of TN Arts Commission operating fund grants for the last 10 years. In addition, the TN Arts Commission has provided top funding for the education outreach program. Allied Arts of Chattanooga has provided 30% of funding since 1989.
