Interview with James Turrell
James Turrell began his career in the early 1960s and was one of the leaders of a new group of artists working with light and space. Since 1972, he has been planning to transform Roden Crater, a natural cinder volcano in Arizona's Painted Desert, into a large-scale artwork that relates, through the medium of light, to the universe of the surrounding sky, land, and culture.
