Her videos and installations are simultaneously playful and complex,employing the language of pop culture and music videos and featuring sassy and brassy feminine heroines. She almost always stars in them herself -- gleefully smashing car windows or dancing wildly to a sped-up version of a Beatles song -- and she has acted as writer, camera operator, and editor of her works, as well. This April, Rist gets her biggest screen yet, and her largest audience, too, when her latest work goes upon the Panasonic Screen in Times Square.
