Why are Bill Plympton's characters such contortionists? According to the artist, the human body is "the ultimate cliché" and he finds humor in turning that cliché on its head, literally. Opting against the aid of computers, Plympton hand-draws as many as 30,000 cells for a single film. EGG catches up with Plympton just prior to the release of his latest film, "Mutant Aliens."
