When Tim Bovard was 9 he found a dead skunk in the road that that changed his life forever. He skinned it, mounted it, and soon he was on the path to becoming a taxidermist. Seventeen years later, he's created more than 50,000 individual specimens for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. From gorillas and whales, to fish and repties Bovard's painstaking creations are remarkably life-like. Bovard is an artist in his own right and uses a host of techniques -- including sculpting, molding, casting and painting -- to transform deceased animals into works of art. EGG goes behind the scenes to see this master at work.
