After graduating from Harvard, Joshua Redman had a simple choice to make: be a doctor or a lawyer. He had practically packed his bags for Yale Law School when he won the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Saxophone Competition in 1991, garnering a record contract with Warner Bros.
