Ulali When they formed fifteen years ago, the Native American a capella trio Ulali -- comprised of Soni Moreno, Pura Fe, and Jennifer Kreisburg -- pioneered the merger of Native and contemporary musical styles. The group has performed around the world, everywhere from Madison Square Garden and the Atlanta summer Olympics to Germany, Brazil, and Japan. Their first recording, MAHK JCHI, was released in 1997. Also in 1997, Ulali contributed the music that accompanied Lakota/Kiowa Apache storyteller Dovie Thomason's recording LESSONS FROM THE ANIMAL PEOPLE. The following year they were featured on the soundtrack to the film SMOKE SIGNALS, and performed at the Sundance Film Festival in support of the award-winning movie.
