| Elena Castro is the daughter of Rosa Cruz. She and her brother Luis were raised entirely by their mother. Elena and her stepfather Benny have a difficult time establishing a relationship. She fears that her stepfather will abandon the family just as her biological father did. At fourteen years of age, Elena becomes pregnant.
