Faye Kellerman

Faye Kellerman is a Los Angeles-based mystery writer. She has turned the fictional lives of two Orthodox Jews, Detective Peter Decker and his wife, Rina Lazarus, into a series of popular mysteries. THE RITUAL BATH, in 1986, won the Macavity Award for Best First Novel, followed by numerous successful books. Her most recent novel is PRAYERS FOR THE DEAD.

John S. Kselman

John S. Kselman teaches Old Testament at the Weston School of Theology in Massachusetts and was ordained into the priesthood in 1967. Kselman's numerous editorial posts have included general editor for Catholic Biblical Quarterly. He was also a contributing writer for The New Jerome Biblical Commentary and wrote the Genesis section of the HARPER'S BIBLE COMMENTARY.

P.K. McCary is a writer and lecturer and the author of BLACK BIBLE CHRONICLES: FROM GENESIS TO THE PROMISED LAND, a version of the Old Testament aimed at black youth. She has worked as a print and broadcast journalist and is the author of RAPPIN' WITH JESUS and THE DREAMER AWAKENS. Ms. McCary is currently in production with her play "Straight from the Rib: Dialogues with Biblical Women." She is a member of the Brentwood Baptist Church in Houston.

Stephen Mitchell

Stephen Mitchell is a translator and interpreter whose most recent book is GENESIS: A NEW TRANSLATION OF THE CLASSICAL BIBLICAL STORIES. His other works include THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JESUS, THE BOOK OF JOB and TAO TE CHING. In 1973 he began training in Zen meditation.

Bharati Mukherjee won the National Book Critics' Circle Award for best fiction for THE MIDDLEMAN AND OTHER STORIES. Her other works of fiction include THE TIGER'S DAUGHTER, JASMINE, and THE HOLDER OF THE WORLD. Born in Calcutta, India, she is currently professor of English at the University of California at Berkeley.

Seyyed Hossein Nasr

Seyyed Hossein Nasr has written or edited 29 books, including IDEALS AND REALITIES OF ISLAM, SCIENCE AND CIVILIZATION IN ISLAM, and ISLAMIC LIFE AND THOUGHT. Born in Iran, he studied physics and mathematics at M.I.T. and earned a doctorate in the history of science and philosophy, with a special emphasis on Islamic science at Harvard. He teaches Islamic studies at George Washington University.
