What
started as a revolutionary gang quickly became totalitarian
regime. The democracy that gave the ideas power was abandoned
for a dictatorship.
The
ghetto was not meant only to separate the Jews from the
rest of society, it was a way for the Nazis to strip them
of their dignity and humanity.
Conditions
of disease and starvation did not prevent all Jews from
fighting the Nazis. In the camps, in the ghettos, and in
the forests, Jews were able to organize and make a statement,
even if it was a small one.
