Joy Levitt has been a congregational rabbi for 18 years. She is co-Rabbi of the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore in Long Island, New York and the editor of the new Reconstructionist haggadah. She serves on the boards of several organizations, including Americans for Peace Now and the United Jewish Appeal’s Jewish Continuity Commission.
