President Obama, in working to reach his goal of abolishing nuclear weapons, must begin the long process of abolition by recognizing the profound moral challenge represented by these weapons and the fear generated by spirit of militarism. President Obama should heed the warning of President Eisenhower about the institutionalization fear by a military-industrial complex.
