Meet the Warriors IntroQuestions & Answers

1. What was your reaction when you first learned you had been chosen to be a Roman legionary?
I was excited about being given the chance to participate in a documentary role that was being filmed for educational television and to represent the Untied States Air Force as a member of the Security Forces. I was also pleased I could give something back to England, our host nation, in the way of cultural and education contributions.

2. What do you believe was your biggest triumph as a Roman legionary?
Surviving the cold, fostering esprit de corps, not getting hurt or ill during the filming.

3. What was your lowest moment as a Roman legionary?
The moment we were stripped of all of our modern 21st century trappings and we had to make the transition to ancient warrior!

4. Overall, how would you rate your performance as a Roman legionary?
Outstanding!

5. If you had to choose between daily life as a soldier or as a Roman legionary, which would you choose?
A modern day soldier because of all the advances in technology, modern warfare, medical and creature comfort war fighting abilities. Less loss of life in modern warfare!

6. Has your experience as a Roman legionary affected or changed any aspect of your career as a soldier?
Yes, it has given me a greater sense of respect and appreciation for the lives of the Roman legionary and definitely made me more thankful for the safety and comforts we have today as modern soldiers.

7. Did your experience as a Roman legionary live up to your expectations?
Yes, although I thought we were going to actually live a little closer to or actually on Hadrian's Wall for the entire filiming process.
