Meet the Warriors IntroQuestions & Answers

1. What was your reaction when you first learned you had been chosen to be a Viking?
When I first learned that I was chosen to be a Viking, I was ecstatic. I really wanted to do this for a few reasons, and I knew that a couple hundred people had applied for this. I also had a bit of concern about my reaction to lights and cameras all around. I must add that I didn't really find them as distracting as I thought I would!

2. What do you believe was your biggest triumph as a Viking?
My biggest triumph as a Viking was busting through the British line to smack the tackling dummy. I still can't figure out how I got between their shields like that!

3. What was your lowest moment as a Viking?
My lowest moment was losing one of our teammates when he injured his shoulder.

4. Overall, how would you rate your performance as a Viking?
I would rate my performance as a Viking as a 9.5 out of 10. I think I'd have made a pretty good Viking.

5. If you had to choose between daily life as a soldier or as a Viking, which would you choose?
I'd have to say that I live a pretty comfortable life today, especially compared to the Viking lifestyle, but part of me would trade my uniform in for a helmet and shield in a minute for the adventurous lifestyle, which, ironically, is one of the reasons why I joined the military.

6. Has your experience as a Viking affected or changed any aspect of your career as a soldier?
No, sorry, but I don't think it's changed my life at all, except for having a bigger ego from seeing myself on TV all the time. I'm waiting to be recognized when I'm out in public now!

7. Did your experience as a Viking live up to your expectations?
I'm happy to say the experience was much more intense than I expected.
