Meet the Warriors IntroQuestions & Answers

1. What was your reaction when you first learned you had been chosen to be a Viking?
I was pretty excited to be called on to take the part. I was hoping to be a Roman gladiator, but was thrilled to be any warrior in the series. When I found out it was going to be us versus the British, I wanted to make sure to represent America and the US Forces to the best of our abilities.

2. What do you believe was your biggest triumph as a Viking?
Definitely the shield wall challenge. We knew the British Security Forces use this technique and have mastered it in their daily training. We Americans had little opportunity to properly prepare.

3. What was your lowest moment as a Viking?
Losing Ken to a shoulder injury. We were a strong team with different attributes to contribute and it seemed a disadvantage to lose one of our mates. We compensated and had to work harder to achieve our level of performance.

4. Overall, how would you rate your performance as a Viking?
From the beginning, all we asked from each other was to do our best, have fun, and enjoy the warrior spirit. Fortunately, we came up on top, but it could have easily gone the other way. To rate my performance, I guess I would rate myself as satisfactory.

5. If you had to choose between daily life as a soldier or as a Viking, which would you choose?
The life of a soldier is honorable because we are contributing to a selfless cause in the defense of our nation. Vikings centered around survival, as the segment depicts.

6. Has your experience as a Viking affected or changed any aspect of your career as a soldier?
It reinforced the ideas of a leader and expectations of a unit in order to complete a mission.

7. Did your experience as a Viking live up to your expectations?
I truly felt humble playing a Viking and enjoyed the whole three-day weekend. The weather was terrible, but that was nothing new to Vikings and England. Our British friends were remarkably similar to us as to their values, traditions, and great sense of humor.
