Pakistan Bombings Target Police, Religious Minorities

Three separate bombing incidents on Monday and Tuesday are the latest in a wave of deadly militant attacks in Pakistan that have left scores dead and hundreds injured. A car bomb exploded at a police family compound Tuesday in Kohat, killing twenty people and injuring at least forty as they were breaking the Ramadan fast. According to a hospital worker, most of the victims were women and children.

U.N.: Rwanda Attacks in Congo Could Be Genocide

A leaked United Nations report detailing atrocities committed by Rwanda in the 1990s may be considered genocide, according to French newspaper Le Monde. Last Thursday, the paper published excerpts of a 545-page report by the U.N.’s Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights that lists more than 600 atrocities committed in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) between 1993 and 2003.

U.N. To Probe Mass Rape in Congo

Rebel groups in the Congo raped nearly 200 women and four baby boys during a weekend raid last month.
