Facing a strong challenge from former prime minister Mirhossein Mousavi, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad compares opposition tactics to Hitler, calling for them to be imprisoned. In response, former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani asks the country’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khameni to censure Ahmadinejad for unfairly accusing reformists of corruption. The nation votes for a new president on Friday.

In an apparent revenge bombing for recent Pakistan army operations in the Swat Valley, a blast from three suicide bombers at the Peshawar Pearl Continental kills 11 and injures 50.
