A “Long March” organized by lawyers and opposition activists in Pakistan begins in Karachi, despite dozens of arrests, troop deployments in some areas, and a ban on demonstrations in Punjab and Sindh provinces. Protesters are keeping the world updated on the situation on the ground via Twitter.

Doctors Without Borders is withdrawing staff from Darfur, Sudan after three employees were kidnapped at gunpoint from their North Darfur office on Wednesday night.
