World Links: Protests in Thailand, Moldova; Fujimori Sentenced in Peru

A container ship with 20 American crew members on board is seized by pirates off the coast of Somalia.

Peru’s former President Alberto Fujimori is sentenced to 25 years in jail after being found guilty of crimes against humanity committed during the 1990s “dirty war” against the Shining Path Maoist guerrillas.

About 60,000 protesters rally against the four-month-old government in Thailand.

Protesters are regrouping in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau, a day after 10,000 anti-communist protesters clashed with police, looting shops and attacking the parliament building.
