Being a citizen living happily and peacefully and enjoying my political freedom in China, I was shocked to see what people in a neighboring, especially women have endured in Afghanistan. I feel compassionate with what they have suffered and thankful for what I have received so far, a loving mother, a nice house and an a study broad exprience in the US. But at the same time, I also feel a stronger sense of responsiblity for me or other young people like me to make a difference in China, to tackle the enviromental issues, the human rights issues and also the corruption in our goverment and democratizing movement. In regard to this, I think what we or China lack now is an outspoken leader like Joya to stand up for what they believe forcefully as opposed to putting off the issues on the agenda infinitely. I believe my generation will definitely see a stronger, more prosperous and more democratic China. Last, I wish peace and prosperity for our neighour, Afganistan. I believe women or men, who have a genuine sense of rebuiding their country will act up like Joya to make a bigger difference than ever was anticipated.

It is refreshing to see a woman like Joya. It reminds me of the problem women had in the US in 1913, when they marched for the vote. The crowds attacked them. Many were beaten and jailed. What I like about Joya is that she remains modest. Today in the US many women who want women’s rights forget proper modesty. I am a Christian raised in a traditional home and would like to feel that one can be modest and modern all at the same time. Joya is an inspiration to women all over the world.

I cried more times than I can count during this documentary. As a woman, I cannot believe there is such a revolutionary that exists. She is a woman who will move mountains. Ironically, as I see the faces of parliament in this country, within a short time, you see the faces of women. Why, in a country as progressive as ours, it took so long for women to enter our congress?

that was a wonderful programme..In a country where women’s rights are shackled, it is really encouraging to see people like Joya who gives hope not only to the Afghan people but also to the whole world. I really hope that peace and happiness comes to Afghanistan
