Jeff Flock's reporting for CEO EXCHANGE is the latest in his 30-year career in journalism on radio, TV and the web. He began in Boston as a contributor to NPR's All Things Considered and Morning Edition. Jeff was a founding staff member of CNN in Atlanta and helped produce CNN's first broadcast in 1980. For 19 years he was the network's Chicago Bureau Chief, reporting from the scenes of most of the nation's major plane crashes, hurricanes, floods and other conflicts. He covered the space shuttle Challenger explosion, a dozen hurricanes, including Hugo and Andrew, and reported from the war in Kosovo in 1999. Jeff headed a team specializing in unique live reporting, including the first-ever live reports from the top of Mount Rushmore, the bottom of Pearl Harbor and the hurricane deck beneath Niagara Falls. Jeff is now Anchor and Managing Editor of, devoted to live-streaming hurricane coverage. He reported non-stop for seven consecutive hours during the landfall of hurricanes Rita and Katrina. Jeff shared CNN's Peabody and Cable ACE awards for coverage of the Persian Gulf War and ACE awards for coverage of the Waco standoff and the Oklahoma City bombing. He is a multiple winner of the Chicago Headline Club's Peter Lisagor Awards. In 2004 he won a National Association of Black Journalists Award for his coverage of death row clemency in Illinois. He has a B.S. in broadcast journalism from Boston University, has two daughters and lives in Chicago.
