The Woodwright's Shop Special: The First Woodworker
Premieres Statewide Saturday, Dec. 29, at 4 PM

North Carolina’s "First Woodworker," Governor Mike Easley, joins the original woodwright, Roy Underhill, on a special edition of The Woodwright’s Shop. In workshirt and jeans, Governor Easley shares his own creation, a "Po’ Boy" table, with Underhill. In less affluent times, before reuse and recycle were popular design concepts, Governor Easley salvaged scrap wood from a furniture maker, used different sized cans for his template and created his sturdy and handsome handcrafted walnut table.
