While
utility companies use computers like everyone else, the process of actually
generating electricity rarely checks the date. There are some switches
and monitoring systems operated by computers, but almost all of them have
been tested. Our utility companies are very confident about their delivery
systems, but they also have backup systems and alternate routes, just
in case.
